Arriving at the hospital
At the Hokkaido University Hospital Outpatients Building
Lunch/Break
After finishing the morning duty, there is the lunch break. I usually have lunch at a restaurant in the hospital or at a school cafeteria. My favorites for lunch are ramen and meals served in a bowl, and they always taste great. There are also many other shops, such as convenience stores, ATMs, and cafes in the hospital.
English Seminar
We have an English seminar every other Monday, where all the graduate students are allowed to participate, forming small groups with the lecturers of our department. As we have opportunities to participate in international conferences, this seminar is very helpful. Today students made presentations of patient cases in English and we had an active question and answer session.
At the Experimental Lab
Ward group conference
Every Monday we have a ward conference, where treatment strategies are decided through discussion. The research conference is held on every Thursday, where we learn skills for reading and writing papers, and making presentations from enthusiastic instructors.
After the completion of the doctoral program, we have many career options such as study abroad and employment in community healthcare services. I wish to choose a career that is suitable for me.
